Newbie to this site , tears at the deer deaths from 1080

I am horrified at the recent 1080 drop in the Hihitahi area. I have been in this area several times, and cannot understand the reasoning behind DOC policies.Maybe they do not have any family living in Taihape, who might be drinking contaminated water. I have a blog and would be very happy to post details of this, maybe just the link, lots of overseas poeple read it, and the " Clean,Green" image that NZ boasts about would be gone in a flash. Does the local MP offer any suggestions or turn blind eye? Cheers from Farmgirl

Dundee are you referring to me? Welcome Farmgirl, there are a number of us on here that are passionately opposed to 1080. Good to have you aboard.

Welcome aboard Farmgirl. Nice to see you have some passion for our bush and all the critters in it. I would doubt your drop is being done through DOC though, more likely AHB and the reasoning would be to reduce the spread of TB, so you have a slight conundrum. Taihape would be a ghost town without farming.
We try to keep the politics out of the forum so I'll leave it at that.

Nah rubbish. The BP makes nice coffee if you speak nicely to the staff. Great after a hard day trapping and track cutting. Makes the 2 hour journey home enjoyable.
