    newbie from wellington

    Hi All

I'm Dan from Welly, been hanging out here for a week or so browsing and learning. thought it was time to introduce myself, I am in the process of getting my FAL (just had the vetter visit today) been out on a couple of bunny hunts with a mate and done some sighting in of a 7mm mag with him.

I am keen to do more bunny hunting and work my way up to goats and deer. Also interested in a bit of informal target shooting to get my eye in.

Plans are to get a .22 and spend alot of time getting good shooting technique etc down pat then look for a centerfire of yet to be chosen calibre for goats, deer and maybe some longer range target shooting.

    cheers

Welcome to the forum mate. As you have seen plenty of advice here, just sift through it to see what falls in line with your own situation. It sounds like you are sorted, starting on the .22 is a great idea and is very cheap to run while putting rounds down range. Just remember that when moving o to a centerfire that you will have to adjust to the increased recoil and sound so an understanding of recoil management and good trigger control will set you up transitioning from the .22.

    Welcome Dan
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
