Thread: NZHS Sabbatical…

After a bit of a stint off the forum having kids and doing minimal hunting my kids are at an age where time to hunt is starting to return. Unfortunately couldn’t get my old account to work so have started again, so here we are…

Given my time away, I thought I might check a couple things:What is the best calibre for [insert activity]?Which calibre is better [this] or [that]?What ammo works well in [rifle make/model]?
(Just stirring as I know these posts have been done ad norseum )

Learnt to hunt in the Canterbury and Wellington regions.
Central Waikato based now so need to learn some new areas.
Enjoy hunting fallow, keen to do more Sika hunting and one day try white tail…
Most hunting has been with a 270 but going to get a 243 to introduce the young fellas to something with a bit less bite.
