Passionate hunter new to the forum

    Hi everyone.

I've been hunting and shooting for many years, albeit on another continent. New Zealand has now become my home and would like to join like-minded individuals that enjoy my passions as well.

I am based in Auckland. Love hunting. Love shooting. I've joined NZ deerstalkers association Auckland and will be attending the monthly meets from July. Any other members here, please let me know.

Now please send me all your best spots. (just kidding).

Looking forward to talking hunting, shooting, reloading, etc with you.

    Cheers,
    JP.

Bugger, that’s where I have been going wrong. I have always headed East from that twisted tree. Ha ha ha ha

What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms

Not sure what I'll be getting here... Yet to go through the NZ firearm application process. I owned everything from .22 to .375. Being a big bore fan, I am leaning toward 338lapua (I know it is heavy, but so was my 375h&h, which was my go to rifle for most hunts), but a sensible .308win will definitely be in the mix as well.

    What are your recommendations?

Agh, ya alright. On the old Tswani road, not the new one, turn left at the first gate, right and left after the three Mopane trees and walk softly. You'll find a klomp of Kudu bulls there. Whistle twice and shout 'Fokoff' then shoot the first one that comes too you. For Impala, you're on your own...
