Should have done this ages ago

    Hi all,

My name is Jamie, I'm from Christchurch. I've had an interest in hunting and firearms for a few years now. For the past 4yrs I've been lucky enough to have a mate who took me under his wing and invited me to hunt wallaby with his father around the Waimate country side. All I've owned are semi auto arms, until the last couple of weeks where I've gone and bought a .270 rifle (with the intent of hunting larger game). I have to spend sometime with it at the range to get used to its characteristics and sight it in etc.

I thoroughly enjoy hunting, being outdoors, in the wilderness and sharing the adventure with like minded people. Hope to meet some A1 people here, to learn from and then contribute where I can.

One question, to register for a HUNTS course do you have to be a NZDA member? Or can I do a HUNTS course and then at a later date become a NZDA member?

    Cheers
    Jamie

By law, you are required to turn on your headlights if it's raining in Sweden.

How the hell am I supposed to know if it's raining in Sweden?

Welcome Jamie. As mentioned joining the NZDA is normally a requirement to do their HUNTS course. There are of course other benefits to be gained from joining

I must have had one too many rums at lunchtime. It is meant to say "I assume that is the case elsewhere"

Gibo is the deep and meaningful silent type. Ha ha ha ha. Welcome Jamie. I am surprised that no one has poked borax at your choice of calibre. I can't because I own one.
