Sidelock from Sweden, looking to move to NZ

    Hello!

My name is Kristian, born and raised on a farm on the west coast of Sweden.

For the last 10 years or so, hunting and shooting has been the center of my life and im thinking about moving to NZ for a while for those two reasons so any and all contacts or information will be most valuable to me to get going, get started, find a place to stay, get set up with firearms and find a job (im a welder but of course also used to general farmwork).

    All best to you!

There's work in the dairy industry. And they're advertising for dairy platform welders/assemblers in Southland. Good luck. I think the nz government websites will talk you through the immigration/work permit processes. Look on seek.co.nz and trademe.co.nz for work opportunities. Plus there are specialist farm work agencies too.

Welcome Kristian. Don't think about it, just come. That's what most of us Kiwi blokes do. If you get the underlying joke there, then you will fit right in down here. VC will be along soon to welcome you. He may even know someone who needs a good welder and he is the hunting guru that all kiwi hunters look up to and worship so you could do a lot worse than get to know him. He's a modest man though so will probably chime in and tell me to piss off when he see this.

    Welcome to the forum.
Don't listen to that silly old fool Rushy.
Working on dairy would no doubt get you some good contacts and access for hunting.

Hello Sidelock. Welcome. I have had a couple swedes work for me, Great workers and passionate hunters! Dairy farming is your best bet to get residency, there is a shortage of skilled workers.

Well done Sidelock. Please bring with you some of your pointers, or in place of that, the Swedish women's volleyball team. Thank you
