    Start with an introduction

Hi, my name is James, I have just signed up to nzh&s and this is my first post. I live in Wellington, fix fridges for a living, and I'm happiest eating a well cooked dinner after a good day hunting, before hitting the tent ready, for an early start in the morning, and going to sleep listening the local stags roaring.
I have been shooting since the 80s but only shot my first deer 12 years ago. I shoot a K98 8mm06, but have a cabinet full of a range of other guns. I came to this forum though my old school chum and hunting buddie; he can identify himself if he see fit.

Yes, it was recommended by my hunting buddie, he calls it knock down power. I manage my flinch by aiming left before closing my eyes and pulling the trigger. - 99% have dropped on the spot.

Given his handle we might not be hearing from this guy again. I've friended him anyway just in case he turns out to be a good sort.

That k98 is an interesting choice in 8mm06 considering 8x57. But hey custom rifle because "Why not"

I made myself laugh. Nah.. we'll hear from James again. In the meantime here is some more from a couple of years ago on the 8mm.

Welcome to the forum. It is a great place.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
