Hi guys. I am going to be in Dunedin on week days until 27 January while I get 15 minutes treatment per day, the rest of the time twiddling my thumbs. Feel free to PM me if you want a chat or if I can attempt to answer questions.

Treatment??. What's up doc
just think of all the goodies you can fit into your chev when you get out.
Hey - great offer, its an ill wind that blows no good - wishing you a speedy and full recovery!
My question - If you prefer I'm happy to have it via a PM or a chat . . .
What instructions would you give a gunsmith who is to fit and chamber a new barrel into a 22 RF target rifle - especially re chamber spec and head-space etc. (Its not so often tackled these days and most 'smiths are a bit evasive with recommendations, which suggests to me they don't have a real handle on it)
Thanks
hope all goes well for you @gundoc
A target rifle should have a 'match' chamber (ie: minimum dimensions) where a sporting rifle can get away with more generous dimensions for reliable operation. There are several varieties of 'match' reamers, all of which are good and any difference is unlikely to be noticed unless it was fired in a bench rest. Barrel fit and headspace are more critical factors. A target barrel should ideally be screwed in with a neat fitting thread and even shoulder contact on the receiver ring. Luckily, with most match barrels you will find greater performance difference in the ammunition rather than the barrel.
