UK shooter - new to forum, visiting Hamilton NI.

Hi all, been on UK Stalking Directory for years (same user name) and was recommended to join this forum ahead of me visiting NZ. Youngest son is dentist in Hamilton.
On North Island from 11th Dec, then heading to South Island (31st) to catch up with friends and 3 weeks in camper van.
Used to be a mad Sauer fan then went to Norway hunting moose and used a Blaser. Sold the Sauers and now shoot Blaser R8 (6.5 x 55mm, 308 and 300WM). All home loads. Recent convert to 300WM - awesome round, but go to is 6.5 (140grn Sierra) which just works.

Just had last day pheasant shooting on 3rd and handed gun over to stalking mate to keep my space on the syndicate. Having a few years off from dogs after losing cocker (best dog I ever had) this summer.

Looking to make contact to see if there's a chance of going out for a day (pigs/goats - or whatever you guys hunt/shoot at this time of year) out in Hamilton area. Any recommendations/contacts?

    Thanks
    steve

Moved from the South East to Kernow 20+ years ago. Enjoying the local shooting (we get some big reds locally due to the mild climate, and have been working with the badger cull) but still get up to Scotland for an annual week away with mates (local guys who struggle once they cross the Tamar).

Having a few days in Singapore, then arriving at Bankwood Rd, Chartwell on Wednesday.
Thanks for the offer and will search out address (Dpt at unit 11, 706 te rapa rd, in Hamilton) and pop in for a brew and talk guns, calibres, reloading .................

Hi MSL, arrived yesterday and catching up with sleep - Based Hamilton through to 31st Dec, then a short period 26-30 Jan. Rainy here in Hamilton but still warmer than Kernow. Had to hand my gun to shooting pall for the remainder of the season back home, so hopefully he has a good day on driven pheasant today. Son has us booked up for trips out at the weekends but is busy with work (dentist in Hamilton & Cambridge) which leaves us free Mon-Fri. Will pick up a car for next week as son & GF use car to commute.

Hi Friwi, noted. No probs. Arrived late yesterday so chilling (Bankwood Rd, Chartwell). Son busy with work Mon-Fri but has plenty scheduled for us for the weekends. I'll look at picking up a hire car for next week as my 2 I/C from Tyne Brewery lives in Auckland. Checked out your website and remembered that my mate used to import DPT mods. He still has 2 across his 6.5 Creedmoor and 30-06. What would be best day next week?
