Be going on my wall if i get one like that
ha ha yep! it was a new camera i had just purchased off Tim Butcher, so luckily he had it in a good Case... so much dew etc i figured knowing my luck id left the zip open etc.
on another trip i left my torch up on the tops, it was a wind up job, i figured i needed it so went back an climbed up a few days later just for my torch which i later lost anyway.
Yeah , so at the time i wasnt in position to get it mounted in nz, ive got the skull at home in aus, next time i will find a cape an tan it in nz, get papers to bring it home an mount myself
yee yeee
Out of interest how did you get the skull home? I've got one here for an aussie.
lol, well dont do this.
i shot it like 4 days before i had to come home, yeah i stretched it out alright...
i just boiled an pressure washed it reasonably but not great... by the time i got checked out in Brisbane Australia, the thing had a few crawlys... haha. they did not like this fact-
so offto Radiation it went....... $100 a head. took months to get back an radiation wasnt great for the skull of one. the nose bridge was off-
in reality get in touch wit customs an border patrol to see whats needed, i looked it all up for bringing skins back next time..
have to post a box of heads back after this final visit but pending what i really wanna bring back the skins will be preserved folded an dried up for ease of transport. an just post.
heads need some thought but none are on any lists for permits of special interest.. just got to be clean an a taxidermist cover letter helps.
