Thread: Advice please re tablets

Hi all, 40mm's other half here. I'm after a tablet and wondered does anyone have any advice? My mum has a Samsung which seems pretty good. I wondered if this deal below is any good? Thanks in advance for your help. Cheers, Alicia

go buy new, 2nd hand computer gear is nothing but issues
unless you buy it from someone you trust and the warranty is still valid.

you have three options really an apple one an android one or a windows based one.....
get whichever suits the purpose you intend to use it for as they all have + and - to them and software you want to run will need to be compatible.
as with a computer get one with as much ram and storage as you can afford and make sure it will take an sd card.

Quite possibly better off saving an extra 200 off dollars and getting an iPad. Check price spy and price me. They'll have the cheapest price and where to get it.

Thank you. Would you recommend a refurbished one from 1-Day? They come with a 12 month warranty.

Depends on what was fixed and how cheap it is.

I think for the peace of mind knowing that its brand new and has support from Apple I'd buy a new one.

There's a limited amount of things that can go wrong on an iPad and one day would probably buy them by the container load from who knows where. So you question what's a "refurbished" iPad and who did it.

Usually apple's agent refurb from what I understand, they get sent back to fix (screen, whatever) and are just shuttled into an exchange system and you get 'your' one back off a rack of refurbed ones. These 1-day outfits just buy the rack for sweet fuck all and sell em on with $20 per unit profit

My wife got one of those....turned up... wouldn't turn on or charge or anything... they didnt have another in stock so we had to wait for it to be sent back and looked at and so on for bloody ages before getting a refund then she went and brought a new one which was considerably more expensive but it worked.

Sorry also I should have mentioned: I really only want it for taking and viewing photos. Maybe the odd email here and there.

ive got a Lenovo it was pretty cheap new and works well I do pretty basic stuff on it tho

lenovo isnt a bad product but backup service is awful (wife works for a company that buys this stuff allot)

iPad will likely last longer. My first lasted about 6-7 years, now on my second. Work out well given they tend to give a good few years service, and just simply work. Less faffing about than others.
