Thread: Canon SX60......users

Hey i know alot of Kiwis were into the SX60 befre the upgrade model came out........ alot of Guys were also using this model as a Spotter scope with the 260X zoom...

keen to discuss with some prior users of the sx60 hs ...


Things like what settings you mostly used, or just the standard "auto" feature?

Did the footage seem real grainy in those pre dawn and later afternoon scenerios? or grainy more often than not unless the Sun is A1 perfect and all lighting and - all stars aligned- for great footage?


Was focus a bit of an issue ? especially when out a bit further and the half press focus mode, but then to Hit the record button it loses that locked on focus and tried to refocus and maybe times may end up with out of focus shot,, out of focus and grainy as fuck.

i also noticed in NZ on the tops, the heat shimmer made it impossible to use as a spotter in alot of instances, not a fine enough detail to count point or see much more than, yeah antlers, big medium small, or hind, no antlers.... or Yes thats a tahr. etc.



i am goin to search this forum too for more info on specifically the SX60.............. im sure many stuff has been asked before... it is a bit frusterating but i spose thats just how it goes, without spending 2k or so for a hardout Camera with better features..
it is fair to say the sx60 is proberly a bit out dated now but something doesnt seem right with it
