Thread: I need a new camera

I'm after something like those mini-DSLR jobs, with the lens assembly on the front. Point and shoot basically, but maybe some room to learn without going to an SLR.


I want good photos, good HD video recording capability, plenty of zoom.


Pretty simple requirements I guess. For a long time I was trying to get one that ran on AA batteries instead of propriety rechargables but I'm giving up on that. I have a budget up to $750NZ or so - I don't need the flashest, latest model, especially since I'm rough on things and it likely won't last forever.


What do people suggest? If someone has a camera they'd like to recommend could they please post some example photos and/or film that it has taken?
