I've just sold about $4K worth of underwater photography equipment for $1k on TradeMe. It was based on the M4/3 platform and I got some great results with it despite being a diver first and photographer second. Unfortunately, underwater photography is something you have to put a lot of time in to and just not compatible with family life.
I've been messing around with GoPro cameras for the last decade, so will continue to use those above and below the water. Keeping an eye out for the next iteration. Otherwise, they say the best camera is the one in your pocket and most of my photography is now done with a smartphone. I also enjoy photo editing and tend to use Lightroom.
