    Judging Tahr horns

Now that there will be all these extra bulls running around, with the heli-hunting shortly being given the long overdue coup de grace, here is a short vid to help you judge horn size, this will help you to leave the teenages to grow, in theory the horn average on the public will lift significantly now that there will be 400 + extra bulls running around each season. Leave the young ones......................

Yes it is great news! Makes me more interested in going back to the Wilderness areas this coming May/June. Although probably should leave them for a year or 2 to recover... Care to supply me with spot X in some easy East Coast country Colin?

I haven't watched the video yet, but I do have your DVD so I assume its the same one thats on there? Cheers
If it's not a first round hit you need to practice more

Yeap, same one. Good time to hunt now, there is a report on a tahr hunt done very near where most of the DVD footage was taken. One thing I have learnt, that it is hunter pressure and nothing else that pushes them up so high. With little pressure they will stay under 5000 ft thier whole lives.
Saw 70 bulls in a mob a few weeks ago very, very low (Private land).
