We didn’t bother to crack open the camera gear cupboard because it was such a beautiful sight we decided to enjoy it through binos instead. In the past by the time the photographer has cocked around getting everything ready they’ve generally missed it!

At first when the shadow started to progress across the moon, there was some thin patchy cloud which spoiled it. But at exactly the right moment we got 30 minutes when the sky was crystal clear, and it was one of the most beautiful celestial things we’ve ever seen.

Stuff waiting that long. Better to wait for Halley's Comet. Only another 40 years.
What we saw was quite red.

In 1986 I bloody well couldn't see it. Wife reckoned she could see it clear as. Didn't have binocs available at the time.

Was perfect for getting out the NV gear, and dealing to a bunch of rabbits. Full moon is traditionally useless, as the rabbits can see you well out past shooting range.
Thoroughly enjoyed getting out when I normally wouldn't, and getting peek a boo views of the moon between clouds.
