If land loses value you can store stuff on, it, grow veggies, etc, etc.

If Gold loses value, you can use it for cell phone componentry, make fish hooks, etc, etc.

Crypto and NZFT have no utility when valueless, excepting as something you can sell to the next fool.

Nail on the head and of course its also the easiest way to move and hide money from the AML crowd.
