Yrs ago i could see 2 deer thru bushs with my thermal hand held.They were about a metre back from front edge of bushs.Went to shoot them thru my nv clip on.Couldnt see them at all,sold nv clip in a week and went thermal.

I use to have a ATN -sight 5-20 nv scope,great for day and early evenings.Like watching colour tv and accurate.It just didnt have the detection ability like thermal at distance,even with a good ir torch along side.

Zulus night vision in daytime mode. Well after ordinary shooting light. 20x digital mag. Pretty impressive.
You can see the aiming point come up after I ranged it. Quite good depth of field - you can see it walk behind a fence post right at the end (it was behind and old deer trap fence).

I was downloading some video off my handheld thermal, and was amazed the detail you get out of these 640x512 units. Even the subtle difference of temp of a painted model number shows up.
Didn't seem right when I was looking at it, but I only have the NV and the thermal, and the NV was in the picture.

Definitely one of the best ones I have tried. The large handle makes using it really simple, and if needed you can really crank down on it. This is only the 40mm version, as I didn't think I needed the weight rating of the 60mm one for a light weight 22lr.Quote:
