    Weka vs Weasel

I saw something I've never seen before today, it's not a nice vid to watch and certainly wasn't nice to witness.
I tried to club the weasel but it took off, if I had had the shotgun I'd have got the bastard. I put the bird out of it's misery.
I can't get it to upload, the forum isn't accepting it....it's an .MP4 file around 19.5MB. Any ideas?.

Can you upload it to youtube and post the link here? I saw a Weka versus fish and the weka was deifintely winning that one....

Vicious little bastard things. I’ve seen a weasel on a rabbit. Talk about David and Goliath and same result.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms

Shot a stoat on a rabbit once - unfortunately the bullet also took out the rabbit!

    Savage but cool to witness.
I've seen that a couple of times with a stoat on a rabbit. Managed to clobber one of them with a pigtail standard.
That's definately a stoat. Dark bushy tail is the easiest identifying difference.
    Overkill is still dead.

Thanks for verifying..wasn't too sure if it was a weasel or stoat.

We had a Stoat being harassed by Quail the other day here in Kinloch, on the reserve across the road. The birds were going nuts, trying to distract it from their young. I’ll get a trap set for it today, if I can.

A similar thing I saw, but no vid unfortunately: Driving north from Jackson Bay in a big Campervan, a Stoat (I think) going postal on an Eel, about a foot long - in the middle of the road.

I swerved to hit it and I hope I got it.

I had a van full of millennials. As they were all engrossed in their phones they missed it.

You do realize milienials are now turning 40. I'd say you had gen Z or alpha.

Whats an alpha? Like a van full of alpha males? I am 24. What does that make me? I never figured out what I am. Definitely a human male though.

Depends on the definition. I'm turning 41 and up until a couple years ago we were in the gen x bracket.

We saw a stoat chase and kill a whole nest of young rabbits on a building site once, it would chase one, kill it then you would hear them screaming again as it went back for another rabbit. It was under a large flax bush on a neighbouring property hence we could do anything about it. I estimated at the time it killed 6 rabbits in 15 minutes.
    Happy Jack.
