    Wild goats....

There is a road north of Upper Hutt through the Akatarawa valley to Waikanae.

I stopped to photograph this goat on a well known land mark.

To 4x4 drive enthusiast, as commonly known inside the Akatarawa's there are heaps of 4x4 drive tracks.... well worth a visit.

On a 4 wheel drive trip I photographed these goats from within the truck.

Playing around with car head lights trying to photograph an opossum... came out alright in the end

Strangely enough perhaps in some areas opossums are getting to be a scarce item in NZ.... comments?

Hawks having a munch on road or paddock kill?

    Name: 5.jpg

One often sees road kill and a short time later they disappear, perhaps common hawks have there uses?

    Another rat on the road

Went back two days later and the rat was gone... who ate the rat?

Perhaps it was a feral cat or something else?

    Cemetery cat

Photo taken up at the Makara cemetery, it could be said the nearest house is a good 500 meters away?

Perhaps this was a feral cat, can anyone tell the difference... Perhaps Gareth Morgan can

    Cat amongst the rabbits

The rabbits are obviously aware of the cat but were not to concerned?
Perhaps a local domestic pet farmland cat out for an evening stroll?

Yes it's interesting that, on several occasions I've seen fox very near rabbits with no panic at all.

It was printed in the Ashburton Guardian nearly 20 years ago when Ashburtons wild cat problem was at its peak that any cat caught without a collar would be deamed as feral and be disposed.

I had some technical problems, my drivers side car window wouldn't work for awhile.... A photograpghic handicap problem

I took the car to an auto electrician who resolved the problem.
However the car window now works again. This cost me a photo of a deer on the side of the road because of this.

    Just a mention....
My previous problems with the window is out lined fully in the outdoor car section link on this forum, thanks for the forum menbers help -

The joys of photographing through glass... photo degregration.

I took the above photo of this hawk through the car window, again showing photo degregration. I think by looking at it, it was hit by a car, so was a bit crook? However it hobbled away, it may have had a broken wing?

I took this photo the other day through my cars open window.

As per the photo's previously posted of the hawk/s above it certainly makes photographing a lot easier when the window is down.

Sometimes I get the titles mixed up.

These two photos are obviously of the same deer basically taken in the same area, but the titles are different.

I created a seperate thread called Roadside wildlife. Here is a link to that thread - https://www.nzhuntingandshooting.co....ildlife-90561/
