375 DCM Lite & muzzle brake comparison

I finally had a chance to do more testing & load development today with the 375 DCM Lite.
It weighs 11.44lbs with the scope, 28.5" Bartlein gain twist barrel, McMillan A3 Carbon stock, lightened Barnard P-Chey action with alloy bedding block, Talley rings, Leupold VX3 CDS 4.5-14x40 scope, T4 Terminator muzzle brake.
I formed up some new Bertram 408 brass & have settled on a load that gives me 3350fps with the Cutting Edge 330, the advertised BC is 0.85, more testing at distance should confirm this.
I have 45moa internal elevation available in the scope plus another 3 in the Duplex reticle so this should get me out past 2000 yards.
It has hang of a lot of power for such a light rifle.

It still shoots 1/2 moa with the slower load.

I'm looking forward to taking it out & using it in the field.

Nice rifle, and no doubt the most advanced yet in terms of extreme power in the lightest package available for Aussie/New Zealand.

We never weighed it before & after, I got it back with the barrel on it.

I will be doing similar things to a PL soonish

It has a stop at the end just in case that happened, it really needs some sort of cushioning, I never thought it would take off so violently.....

It is quite nice to fire with the brake on, you can have a go with it sometime if you like :)

Really shows how effective your brakes are.

With the t4 is really is a pussy to shoot. I think I put 12 or so rounds through it with zero effect. You really could shoot allday.

Heh, I instantly remembered what I said about shooting your big gun and thought nope!

Took it out again a few hours ago & fired two shots at 1015 just to check the HDBs data & for fun.

Really liking this rifle, now I just have to find a Deer to harvest with it :)

It would be effective from my lookout to "the bench" in calm conditions yea?
recovery would be somewhat arduous from that side tho;)
