Thread: 6.5-284 Muzzle brake comparision

I did some load development on a Rem 700, when it showed up it had a brake I hadn't tested yet so took the opportunity, after asking the owner

Here are the brakes I compared

Prototype T1 Terminator, new style radial, T2 Terminator.



Here is a video of it shooting 140 Amaxs at around 2900.



There was very little difference in recoil reduction between the T1 & radial, but the T2 is ahead even though the through hole is for .284, not .264.

When myself & another Forum member shot them for comparison, that was both of our thoughts.

Including the opinion that the Radial wasn't particularly pleasant to shoot compared to the ported T1 & 2

Considering the T2 Terminator has over twice the port face area it isn't supprising it performed better.
