How would one go about converting a 260 to a 6.5 saum? Is it possible and if so what is cost? Brass not too hard to get and is it a barrel burner?
Cheers

What rifle? Barrel would have to be set back and rechambered, bolt face opened up and mag modified to feed (Saums and wsms can be particularly difficult to get to feed properly)
Yes it will burn the barrel a lot quicker than a 260
It is a tikka but nevermind think I will leave it as after reading that haha.
If you are going to fall in love with a rifle or a stock, that is call a date, not a meeting ;-)
Took it up the range yesterday to check some loads before sending it to the customer

Looks to be a little happier after I bedded it :)
That is nice. I was thinking about purchasing something like that. What would the build cost be roughly from scratch?

Its a Bartlein 1-8 Rem Mag profile finished at 24"
The action had been severely blueprinted/played with before I got it
Unfortunately as is usually the way it wasn't done properly & is lacking enough primary extraction for it to show its full potential velocity wise.....plonkers playing with things...
Another reason to invest in a Defiance action :)
The steel is "funny", it picks up even with a new reamer, creating rings etc in the chamber & its hard on the reamer.
It is bad enough cutting a thread on it, very few will re-chamber them, the failure rate is too high.
For some reason we haven't had that trouble rechambering 223 to 22 Terminator, yet, maybe we have been lucky...
