    Super Lite 22 Terminator

I've had this barrel for a while it was on a T3 Tikka & carbon stock but it was too heavy

So we made a stock for it & put it into a Kimber 84M 223

It weighs 1.935 kgs 4.26lbs as shown in the pics without the bipod.

The barrel is 18.75" long & will push the 70 GMX at 31-3150+ fps, I have more load development to do tomorrow.

It is a very light & compact

    1.935 kgs

    That's unprecedented.

You planning a 7mm08/7mmsaum for the masses ?

Would sell well. 16 - 20 inch tube

How much would the same setup weigh but with a tikka t3 action rather than the kimber 84 ?

How much for you to make just the stock, so we can retro fit it to our own rifles

    Rem SA
    Rem LA
    Rem mod 7

    Tikka T3

    Kimber

    Etc

With super light weight rifles recoil starts to become an issue.

The 7-08 would be a goer but the 7 Saum might be a struggle with the heavier projectiles.

The 6.5 Saum does have merit but would eat suppressors..

    Tikka T3

    Kimber

    Etc
They would all cost about the same but they aren't ready for market yet.

The wood is a lot softer than traditional materials, it is lighter but not as durable, everything is a compromise.

Is there any type of coating you could put on it to form a hard protective shell?

Greg, you misunderstood the question. What I meant was how much lighter is the Kimber action than a Tikka action ?

The stock in post 23 on the other thread is not the same one you have on the Kimber...

So: same stock, same barrel, same scope but different action...

The Kimber action & bolt is approx 240 grams lighter.

The Tikka is about the same weight as a Rem 700 LA

    thats fricken awesome
would a well designed bed of epoxy solve the recoil issue of the soft wood?

is the 223 montana action any different to a 308 bar bolt face?

The action is bedded in Epoxy & the wood end grain is probably tougher than the fill in Carbon stocks.

Yep apart from the bolt face, bolt stop & extractor the 223 action is the same as the 308

Would a .308 be lighter then because of a bigger hole down the barrel?
