Was helping out on a on Hunts course in the weekend, it was cold this morning, water drink bottles froze in the Hilux
We discovered that goats 40 yards really don't like the 70 GMX...don't like them much at any range really.
This 90lb chap got pretty unlucky at 3.15pm at around 300 yards, he was 291 when I found a suitable shooting position & he continued on up the hill from there.
It is sighted in at 100 yards so I guessed & held over about 4-6" with the little scope on 9 power.
When the bullet tried to exit it was stopped but the mushroom, never seen that before, it smashed his onside front leg & then broke a rib on the way out.
He didn't go far down hill like that.
Here is a pic once we got him back with the bullet back where I found it.
It started as a 70grain GMX leaving at 3150fps out of the 18.75 barrel, it finished as 69.7 grain, pretty hard to recover with that sort of weight retention, but pig shields are tough.
Very happy with the performance of this tiny 4.26lb rifle you can carry it forever![]()
