Thread: T3 Tikka 22" 22 Creedmoor

Built this up a few months ago to test the Hammer 52 grain Absolute Hunter projectiles, unfortunately I couldn't get the velocity I was after



It has a Muller Works #3 1-8 barrel, so similar to a Bartlein #2B & factory barrel

I got my new no neck turn reamer put in it to try it out & it works great

I hadn't shot the 80 ELDMs in a 22" barrel before, usually the 88 ELDMs so I thought I would have a play with 2209, RL16 & 26 to get an idea of velocity potential



It really likes RL16, RL26 gives easily over 100 fps more but the accuracy wasn't there with this quick test of 30 rounds, which weren't near pressuring

I'm sure with a bit more finessing it will get better

I've just finished a 22C on a 21" barrel - Thanks for the advice on the RL16(Im fresh out of RL26).

How about Hodgdon Superproformance powder it goes well in my 6.5 Creed as does RL 26

Mine is 22" but only 1:9 twist so runs 75 ELDMs. 38.0 gn AR2208 gives 3220 fps and fantastic accuracy (particularly considering its a factory 223 barrel rechambered).

Anyone running 2213 in theirs?
