Disagree I already have 1 ACR unit. Goes in the glovebox of the car on long trips when no cell reception just in case come accross an accident or some other emergency and need help with out racing off looking for a house with a phone or cell receptionQuote:

Please correct me if im wrong but I was told by a member of our local SAR that they should be able to get the ACR for around $400. Why would they get them cheap if it still costs us close to $600.I wont say who told me this in case it is incorrect info.

I did price check with my suppliers and that price Is pretty sweet. ESP considering the 1st aid kit included
I know exactly what the wholesale (dealer price) is and this is a pretty good deal.
If the SAR can get and ACR incl GPS for $400 incl GST then they a getting heavily subsidized somewhere along the line by someone
