Thread: Rifle bag / shooting mat combo

Hey guys and gals,

I'm starting a new thread here to see if we have the numbers for @twinneedle to look into making a rifle bag / shooting mat, however they need confirmed interest before they can develop a product for $$ reasons as Matt has stated below.

"we have made a couple of long range rifle bags and a variation on a shooting mat. Our biggest hurdle is costs. We made a couple of padded M4/AR and Rifle carry/storage bags and the costs were around $250-300 with basic features. Now if we were to look into this further we can bring costs down but getting confirmed orders in advance, like what we did with the stock packs. What is does is that it spreads the cost of R & D, sampling, testing over the entire order bringing the overall cost per product down dramatically. We are keen to produce and design new products so if these items are something people are keen on then we can look into it further if we can get some numbers behind it. "

So how many of you upstanding folks would be keen on such an item?

could be keen if you can fit two rifles in it! problem i have at the moment with bags/cases they dont have enough height for dialable turrets

My thinking is big enough for a longrange rig, yea the normal H&F style bag with the angle is piss usless when it comes to anything other than a standard rem 700 or T3 sized rifle. I also don't like that it is clearly a gun in the case.

Might have been interested, but just purchased two custom made rifles for my target rifles.
Needed custom bags as they are 1350 long muzzle to stock with large scopes.

One thing to concider is keep the outside smooth as you can
I have a voodoo one and it's good except it's too short but when you have it unfolded you are always laying on a strap or a buckle
But they do keep you dry and frost free on those cold mornings

Yea somewhere around 1400 long, that way you also get a decent sized mat when unfolded, and keep it simple, don't need the tactikool stuff

We are keen to look into this further. Does anyone have a case/mat they are currently using that is the bees knees? If so can you get in touch? For something like this there will be a bit of work involved but certainly feasible. If you can get numbers of around 20 -25 units then it should be a go and we can work out some pricing once we have nutted out a design.

Keen. My quartermasters one has worn out. It had a handy rod holder and bag with clear window. I never used the bullet holders
-Having bipod foot catches would be better. I'd have just sawn a couple of loops on there but i'm quite the lazy arse.

@twinneedle Appears there may not be the interest needed to get this off the ground, I'll likely buy a quartermaster's version so if you guys want a bag to look at down the line I can send it down.
