    tikka bottom metal

hi all. not sure if this is the right place but here goes. im looking at having some tikka t3 bottom metal made up by a guy i know who has cnc machine. would be getting them anodized black or clear (silver). would be made out of 6000 series aluminium.

we would be looking at about $150 for one.

looking to see who would be interested. would be a straight drop in.

    cheers

    Hi @robhughes-games

Are these to fit the standard Tikka magazines? I'd be very interested if they were being made to mimic the CDI actions and would fit the AI magazines...

Reloading usually. Factory mags are far too short.

The action is torqued into the stock using the action screws and they rely on a plastic bottom metal to hold that torque. I have seen several tikka bottom "metals" (made from plastic) that have cracked and worn around the action screws. Reliable accurate rifles when new but the plastic bottom metal doesn't lend itself to longevity especially if you are someone who likes to remove action from the stock to clean etc.

I did two of my Tikka’s simple reason was to enlarge the mag capacity for my Aussie trips, 10 round AI mags, there’s a few manufacturers that do the kits and pretty simple to fit.

The date on this thread..... still relevant though.

Interestingly on my Hitec (Ken Henderson) stock, he was saying that I will need to mill down the bottom metal to fit due to the integral bedding block.
Has anyone used AI compatible bottom metal on their Hitec stock and had to adjust the metal or stock?

Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don't mean to do harm-- but the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves.
