    Wtb 80series power steering

    Hey folks
My power steering pump has done 370km and time for a new one. Am yet to ring around town (it's the weekend) but does anyone happen to have a spare in the shed?

1995 4.2 non turbo 80series. Have looked at seals and rebuild but hear it fails shortly after. If I can't find a new one or a second hand with a few less kms I'll have to look into it

    Cheers

With some more research I suspect I also need a new reservoir as well but that could just be I have made a mess over filling it

Haven't heard of issues rebuilding them, the reservoirs leak at times from the seal at top of reservoir and the filter inside gets clogged up, take reservoir out, fold tabs back on lid to remove, clean filter and put lid back on nice and tight, a bit of gasket seal can help too

If you have topped up the reservoir and had an air bubble in the system a due to low or no fluid, the air bubble can force fluid out as it gets pumped around the system and gets to the reservoir.
Will talk to a few guys I know.
Call these guys, Nathan and co ought to be able to assist or point you in the right direction.

So truck sat for months, first time I turned it on it squealed and needed topping up. Took for wof and they reckoned it was leaking. Had to drive it a few 100km and 2weeks later (having given the engine bay and resouvoir a good clean out) at different garage..... We couldn't make it leak so guessing the seals just needed a bit of fliud on them before they stopped leaking

Was going in for a new warrant today..... Thanks covid

Any one happened to have a wing mirror laying about..... Really could do with both, neither are 100% and less so when backing a trailer

@223nut try Kaiapoi Repowers for most stuff, they wreck 80s, I’ve bought a few things off them in the past for mine. https://www.kaiapoirepowers.co.nz/ 03-327 5317

They also have a trade me store https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/search?m...8&bof=b3hfUSC2

Cheers will give them a ring once we are out of lockdown, I only have 40cm clearance through one gateway, sounds a lot till you can't see out the passengers side at all and having to guess from what you see hanging out the driver's door looking at the trailer, haven't clipped it yet!

Yea I have about an inch each side to get it out the gate where I park it. Just have to be careful! Only hit the gate once so far.
