    BBQ hare back steaks

Crept up on a hare sleeping in the middle of a paddock the other day and snotted him, poor bugger.
Anyway, just kept the back steaks and hind legs.
Aged the back steaks for 48 hours in the fridge then marinated in olive oil, garlic, cracked pepper and fresh rosemary for another 48 hours.
Cranked up the barbie and cooked them 2 1/2 minutes each side, let them rest and the sliced them up across the grain. One steak per plate.
Amazing!! You could serve them up as venison and most buggers wouldn't know the difference.

    Excellent. Well done.

Yup put half a dozen in the freezer the other night along with a whole rabbit which is apparently really good roasted. I've only ever done back straps and legs so will be something different.

We'll have to take our own photos, we have some in the freezer.

I much prefer hare to rabbit.
Unfortunately there is about a hundred rabbits to one hare in my only pp spot to shoot them.
