    Crockpot Express

    Hey fellas, was down south at cousins place last week and his partner pulls out her fancy new Crockpot express. It's a pressure cooker and standard crockpot among multiple other things all built into one. Definitely worth checking out.

    I know pressure cookers aren't new but this thing is amazing. Lamb shanks, pork ribs, brisket, shoulder etc etc all done in under an hour even from frozen and bone pulling soft every time. If anyone's short on time this thing is a lifesaver.
    Was skeptical at first but three amazing meals later I was sold on it. Picking up one today, willl post up a few photos of some meals.

    Yep, this is the appliance I was talking about in another post about cooking up wallaby back wheels a few days ago. I thought it would be a gimmick and rolled my eyes when the wife arrived home with it. I'm glad I didn't give her a hard time about it... I'd be eating my words. We've now gotten rid of the two crockpots we had in the cupboard and this thing is getting a real workout.

    Lean game meats are especially well suited to the Express cooker and our results have literally been "melt in your mouth". Corned beef is fail-safe in these things and the last one fell apart when I tried to cut it with a knife. As you say McNotty, pressure cooking has been around for centuries but this appliance brings together two good cooking methods which make a very practical addition to the kitchen. Having a timer on the side makes it perfect for those of us who need to set and forget.

    They really are the ducks nuts.

    Yea man, so many sweet little functions on it. One fat little sow that the dogs caught twice ended up in there, 30 minutes and the meat was falling off the bones, could not believe it.

    Got one of these on your recommendation and Iv gotta say it cooks a pretty sweet boil up
    Really saves me from burning the bottom of the pot, with my usual pressure cooker I do it all the time
    Bigger than I thought it would be too

    which stops the solid ingredients from resting on the bottom of the pressure cooker pot.
    One of these in the pot, goodies on top and as long as you don't boil all the liquid out, as the solids don't touch the pot bottom, no burning / sticking.

    So with this can you set up with a timer so you put all the food in there be for you go to work & have it turn on while you at work & it cooks so when you walk in at the end off the day every things cooked or do you have to be at hm to turn it on then leve it

    Yep, it has a "delay timer" on it mate.... so you can set it up and go to work and come home to happiness and goodness.

    They're bloody great.

    That be a waste of time then as usual leave round 6am & dont get home till 6.30pm at the monument I use the crock pot all the time & have a wall timer that I use to turn crock pot when I want it to turn on

    Good point though.... didn't realise there was a limit of 4 hours on that timer. Wonder if the larger model we have is the same? Hmmm. I note in the online user manual they hint that meats shouldn't be left to spoil so maybe thats why they have a 4 hour timer. What I do know is we've had it for about 8 months now and the results have been outstanding. The wife uses it 3 or 4 times a week.

    The reason i dont turn it on when i leave is couse if found the meat gets to over cooked at 12-13 hrs I don't use it much till wife's parents gave us a crock pot recipes book & when I look at the Times to cook meat for a lot where only 5-8 hrs on low so I tried that & what a difference so now cook only the time needed with the timer & use it all the time
