I got a hare the other day, does anyone have any good recipes to share? I tried jerkying the last one I got, some parts were nice others tasted horrible. I think it needed more hanging so this one has been in the game fridge for about 5 days.

Sear backsteaks whole in hot pan then bake for a few minutes. Chuck back legs in the slow cooker with a can of tomatoes and the usual
Before cooking I cure hare and rabbit like this, rub the meat down with salt, about 5 dessert spoons full to the kg, leave for an hour or 2 no more, rinse off the salt, pat dry then soak it in milk for the same amount of time pat dry and away you go. My gran used to do this and I still remember hare as something special when we went to tea as kids.
I like to coat the back legs in spicy breadcrumbs then deep fry.
I follow Scott Rea on YouTube and have used lots of his recipes with outstanding results

Arguing with an Engineer is like Wrestling a Pig in Mud.
After awhile you realise the Pig loves it.
@Friwi care to share the knowledge?
Sarcasm: lowest from of wit, highest form of intelligence.

I hate eating rabbit, the smell yuk! Then a couple of weeks ago I got a young buck, so took the straps and soaked in milk overnight, washed under water, dried off, wrapped in streaky bacon and cooked in the Webber, bloody beautiful. More this week for sure, I'll try your way this time
Boom, cough,cough,cough
We get rabbit delivered every second week here the farmed stuff ...bloody spoilet we are neighbour is a good bugger hes got a 100 meter range , free range chooks & a bunch of rabbits ...we call it under ground chicken the kids love it often the missz cooks it with chicken depending how much there is ...our fav is deep fried its kinda like kfc depending what you roll it in first..either way if anyone is thinking of giving rabbit breeding/eating a go I highly recommend it.neighbour sells rabbits all over the show so if any interest just say .
