Not a very fruitful day here today...

Couldnt attend the Christmas Party and training day put on by the Pointer and Setter Club as my dog-sitter had last minute commitments, so I thought I would tackle the first of the Christmas cakes...which is still not in the oven, but I managed some Belgium biscuits which become rapidly overcooked as I was writing about rabbits with Dougie, then Brother arrives to show off his new semi-auto...plastic poop as I told him and so the day has been very unproductive...damn...

It has been a bit like that up here as well EeeBees. Weather has been poor, my wife is in Melbourne at an equestrian show and youngest daughter has been at dance rehersal all day. The only productive thing I have really done is sharpen all the kitchen knives. I am glad to hear that it is Christmas cake time. I generally get one eaten before Christmas arrives.

Well, it really was a wipe-out...doctors have a theory I have my own but every so often I have a 'big sleep'...I have to go to bed and will sleep for 12 or so hours...instead of the usual six and a half...so yesterday afternoon it was big sleep time...I woke up sometime and noticed that the teatowel covering the fruit was off the top of the bow which I have left on the table and half the fruit was missing...dog had eaten it! He regurgitated it outside with no ill effect!!! All that money for the fruit...oh well, Mark II has been measured out and will make it to the tin today!!

Wish my mother would make me a Christmas cake!!

EeeBees, VC sleep deprivation is not good for you so you need to get more sleep. The body needs it.

Never been a long sleeper, Rushy, even as a child...there are too many books to read, stuff to do, stuff to learn, stuff to eat and drink, just a whole heap of stuff to keep you awake...!!!!

Ive got to go now...and buy some timber to rehab the dog kennel while the fruit soaks up the brandy..

Well the Big Sleep was a benefit...kennel rehabbed, friands made and Mark II Christmas Cake is now loitering on the bench after being intoxicated with five capfuls of brandy...
