Raw ? Fish dish

Started this mornin before work by diceing 4 gurnard fillets into cubes no more than 15mm thick.
Juice of 3 limes in with them in a bowl cover with glad wrap and into the fridge.

This evening you can see how it has "cooked" in the citrus.

Finely chopped a celery stick,half a red onion,bit of cucumber, a tomato and a whole habereno chili :eek:

Drained excess juice from fish and added diced stuff and a can of coconut cream and folded threw. Season to taste with cracked pepper and sea salt.

Not a main meal type dish but an ideal side for the summer bbq
You can mix and match any thing pretty much into this dish.
This was a bit hot for the rest of the family so looks like its all mine;):cool:
For those who are no doubt going to say Yuk i won't eat raw fish all i can say is close your eyes open your mind and try it. You won't know its not cooked ;)

Bloody hell VC. Marry me. I love raw fish and there is no way that it is a side dish. I would have it as an entre', main and dessert.

Your a pretty handy fulla in the cookhouse VC I eat raw fish my go to is slices of tuna on the boat with soy sauce as a entree,main,and desert and kina roe

Kina roe is all good but the rest of it tastes like shit :D

With a whole Habereno in it you would only do that once;) the next morning in the latrines would make sure of that:D

Mate, two years in Singapore shacked up with a Chinese Sheila that used chillies by the handful has left me with a cast iron constitution. I reckon I would give it a go and to hell with the consequences.

both those engrediants ill have when im only a two step from the porcilin but id still have'em:thumbsup:

Chilies optional Eeebees, just chuck whatever in there(but not to much its a fish dish not a salad;) )

Could also use lemon to "cook" it of course

raw fish is an outstanding dish. better than fried sometimes. vc your raw fish looks pretty tasty. but i will eat any fish i not fussy.:P

Looks nice. I'm a raw fish fan (as well as other raw sea foods) got me.hungry now lol

This is a great dish, very refreshing and people always come back for seconds

Had something very similar in rarotonga. Fantastic dish! God damm it cam now I'm gonna have to make it.

Started this with some fresh brim and thawed orange roughy(caught it from my whaka:ORLY:)

Haven't tried it with roughy before but recon it will be good.
