From my experience, get a mincer. Once you get used to eating venison mince it's hard going back to supermarket stuff.
A small $80 mincer is what I started with. Needed to use earmuffs while using the thing. Was ideal as proof of concept, was very fussy and didn't like meat with too much silverskin on it. I used it until the plastic gears wore out.
One of the ~$300 chinese jobbies on trademe is a step up, quieter to run but it's worth replacing the gear box oil from new etc. Not exactly a high torque motor, but gets around that by gearing it down. I fcjked up and broke a worm wheel inside the gear box of mine.
A zeropak mincer is a step up again. Lots of small design features that all add up. Bits like an overload switch, slightly stronger mincing plate design, having a quality finish on all the machined edges. Being able to replace or fix bits is also worth keeping in mind. Craig at @zeropak is very good to deal with and will give you good advise. (wish I got a kick back from promoting him)
