    Smoked Salmon, freeze it?

Hey team. Sister has been smashing it at the canals recently and she got a couple of fish smoked by the local butcher.
They've come out real well, smashed a whole heap with some cream cheese and crackers this arvo and have a couple of whole sides that have been smoked then vac packed that she's given to us. Can it go in the freezer all good or will it deteriorate the texture/flavour? If not then I guess that's the next weeks dinners sorted...

Smoked eel wrapped in gladwrap freezes fine, hopefully salmon would be the same.

We freeze it. Not for too long though because it does seem to get a stronger taste after a while. But a couple/few months is fine.

Smoked marlin is fine, maybe even better after freezing. Vacuum packing is the way to go.

It will be fine, most commercially available cold smoke will have been frozen prior to sale anyway. if it has been hot smoked, freezing can dry it out a bit. Still ok to use as an ingredient in meals though as the flavour will remain, maybe not as good on crackers.

Vacuum packed is fine, and if your feeling lazy, throw it in the pot still sealed and have boil in bag, works a treat and you dont have to wash the pot.

Vacuum packed and frozen is all good. Lasts for months.
Experience. What you get just after you needed it.
