Going to preserve some ginger...I know it is pretty well ridiculous when you think about it...and the fact that it sells in the supermarket for $12.99 kg green (imported from Fiji) when you know that there are miles of it growing wild up in the North, makes the exercise possibly even more inane...notwithstanding, I am on a mission... Every garden up north seems to have at least a Lemon tree, and Feijoa tree, but the supermarkets still find a market for them at crazy prices.

I think the northland stuff is kahili ginger which is different to real ginger. Its a bloody pest and difficult to get rid of
