    There was plenty of surface rust on the action and remains of the shotgun barrel so I was going to paint the metalwork with black etch primer, but decided to give cold blueing a go.

    Stripped and sanded the action:

    Then blued the action and trigger guard:

    Then I stripped, sanded and blued the barrel:

    I used birchwood casey super blue.

    I ended up taking the engraving off the sides of the action to clean it up a bit, still needs a bit more blue I think.

    Actually, it was perma blue, not super blue
