Finally got my hands on a piece of ebony for the grip cap, although it hasn't really been cut the way I would like it will do the job just fine and the price was right.

judging by the autopsy shots good sir ,this is one mighty impressive piece of artillery .has master grunter tasted its delights yet .

Just read through all 4 plus pages, and have to say this is right up there with the best overhaul of a firearm I've seen. Keen to see the progress and final outcome!
Been a while, have started to rough out the shape of the stock.
Ignore the butt pad and grip cap, they are just placeholders to get the shape.

Doesn't look like much has changed but there is quite a bit of timber that has come off since last photos.

What a great thread! Really enjoyed reading it and you are a very clever bloke. Wish I had half your skills.
More slow progress, had to hand fit the recoil pad as the belt broke on the sander almost straight away. I could have waited till I got a new belt but spare time is limited!
