Open up bolt head. Mag would also need changed. Feed rails also to accommodate fatter case.
Actually I don't know the proper terms @tui_man2
Didn't think about mag , I think it's sell and buy another , unless there is some big advantage in accuracy if it's reamed by a gun smith ?
Sell it and buy a 300wsm
Huge advantage for long range, no advantage for short range. Realistically 7mm08 would get you somewhere around 500-600m for hunting max, the 7mmwsm would add another 200m to that.
These are very ballpark figures.
Kj
Good price.
Sigh
Sakos are gay ae brads
Munsey if hes gonna get a 300wsm , and he wants lighter weight. go Browning xbolt.
Sako just an overrated over priced tikka I don't know what a sako will do that a tikka won't sakos should be. 2 grand at best not 3grand plus
sell the 7mm-08 and buy the wsm be easyer changeing the current rifle wouldn't be without its issues
and for once i agree with the 30cal boys get the 300 i had a 7mm for a bit and getting brass was an issue i got a mate to chuck 200 in his bag back from the us
you could neck down from 300 but would need neck turning andd i think the necks are also driffent lenths
to much hassle for this boy
if your wanting a 7mm get a 7mm rem mag way easyer to run
Don't hold out boys, where are all the less than 3 grand finlights?
I just happen to know where there is a Model 70 Extreme in 7mm Mag, runs the 180 Berger at 3k (half moa if you can shoot) if needed (but 2800 is enough really), will do anything a 7mmwsm will do, and do it with history and style..... (totally shameless plug!)
