Thread: American long rifle build

I put 20 shots down range today from the American long rifle
This image is a cluster of shots from a bench at 55m
Every few shots I took another 0.5mm off the front sight
Slowly brought it up close to the target using a 60 grain FFG load.
Shot 11 was the last 60 grain load
Then decided to try a heavier charge thinking it would raise the point of impact further
But to my surprise shot 12 a 70 grain charge and shot 13 an 80 grain charge all landed with shot 11 anyway

I need to file a little more off the front sight and fire the various charge weights again to see if they shoot to the same place at that range

Windage was a little to the right but it will be corrected when the front sight goes back in after it's shoulders are trimmed and it's all browned
