    Another knife project

Yeah I know...not another one...yawn!!!!! But for those who like knives, this is one I've been chipping away at for a few months now when motivation and time allows. I finally found some time today to finish this project after having a set back with the epoxy glue a few months back, I had two options at Bunnings:

    1) $4
    2) $15

Both looked the same, so I went the cheap way and guess what, you do get what you pay for don't you. It never cured, and totally stuffed my original antler scales, so I had to get some more antler and start again!

    Anyway, here it is:

I'm happy enough with it, I know I could get it better - but I'm not willing to spend anymore time on it as it a case of diminishing returns.

Looks fine to me as well. do you have a good supply of antler?
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms

    Thanks Rushy.

I don't have much, just a long sika spiker that I've been working with. Working with antler is a new skill to me, I never realised that antler was porous in the middle for example, I also never realised that finding a ''flat spot'' wide enough to use for a handle on a skinny round antler was going to be so tricky...all traps for new players I guess.

I've got a little bit here if you want to try making a knife handle, but it may have to be a ''hidden'' tang design as the remaining antler is getting pretty skinny. For a full tang like I've done you need the base of the antler to get the width.

KJ I have a shed full of it gathering dust and will add a heap more in about 6 - 8 weeks time when I take the heads of my stags pre roar.

Looks good. Gotta be one of the best antler handles I've seen. Most seem to keep it looking like a piece of antler. I like that you've shaped it so the grip is the texture of the antler but does not look like you've just glued a piece on a knife blank. Well done
