    AR15- First build

Decided after I sold my Remington 700 5r that if try put together a AR15,
Was planning on a budget build but then things got a little out of hand which ment more money

@vbull sold me a lower parts kit and upper complete which consisted of

Del ton milspec chrome lined barrel 14.5 inch 1/9 twist

    YHM free float forend

    Aero precision A2 upper receiver

    Bushmaster bolt carrier group.

After that progress was slow because I was looking for second hand parts at a reasonable price but had no luck! When Ken at nzar15 got his last shipment of parts I though stuff it and ended up buying

    Rise Armament RA-140 trigger

    AXTS Raptor charging handle

    Holosun HS503GU

    And a Seekins Lower

Once all the parts arrived I had a look for a a cat stock but didn't want to pay the world for it so looked on trademe, ended up finding a Bell and Carlson Thumbhole stock for pretty cheap so I snapped it up! My build was almost done now! Only a A2 rifle length buffer to go! Searched high and low but everyone seemed to be out of stock and I didn't want to spend $150 on a kit! So I ended up just importing one through brownells which within a week had arrived!

This afternoon I finished slapping it together after a few hiccups (safety Spring getting bent!) it was good to go!

Now it's not the best looking weapon or top of the range, or even budget busting for that matter (minus fun bits) and I don't mind it at all for my first build! It was fun putting it all together and learning a hell of a lot more then I ever would buying it complete! I'd highly recommend to anyone to build their own too! It's been great and can't wait to start the next!

Onya. I built a lower and two uppers last winter for the first time and it was well worthwhile. You don't know a rifle like one you put together pin by pin. Screw the looks, does it shoot well?

Make sure you say the compensator is just that and not a 'flash hider'.

Haha just kidding, it's how I got the upper, it's coming off today so I can get a suppressor sorted for it and an adjustable gas block

Try mounting your Red Dot closer to your eye.
I am picking you will find it will give you a better sight picture plus it will be mounted to the receiver so should hold its zero better.

All mounted up, magnifier is abit of a pain as its not central, but if I push it down and abit across it becomes central but anyone know how to permanently adjust it to fit perfectly?

    Cheers
