Thread: bolt problem mauser

So actually getting some time to my self and getting into the gun room a bit more. I have an old mauser 22 I believe its a ms420. Its a tidy rifle and shoots pretty well. I know its a bit hard to tell without actually meeting it in person but it may be a common problem or a quirk with this particular model. What happens is if you work the bolt to vigoursly you can pull it out of the action without pulling the trigger first. If it is a fault I'm picking to have a look in the sear area?

Yep most likely a bit of wear on the sear and corresponding bolt notch.

Same problem as I once had on my Voere which I think is basically the same action. The sear is a sort of square block- the rear face releases the striker when firing and the front face acts as a bolt stop. If the top edge of the front face gets rounded or if you've "lightened the trigger pressure", this unwanted bolt ejection can occur. I'll blame it on my teenage gunsmithing skills (or lack of)..

I think thats a mauser 107(?) This is earlier and quite a different looking beast.
