Thread: Broken tikka mag repair

I brought a tikka 7mm rem mag at Ruahene auction
When I zeroed it the other day I noticed the mag wasn’t holding ammo
And there was a big spilt down the back of the mag which was opening up and the ammo was popping back out the top of the mag

I have replaced the mag but I thought it have a go at repairing the old one
I looked online and found a method of using a soldering iron and melting staple gun staples into the item
Essentially plastic welding without the correct Equipment

So i did just that while holding crack closed in the vise


I then tidied up with a bit of polypropylene from a black yoghurt pot


It’s not the Tidiest but I’ve put a larger amount of force than that normal and not even a sign of movement
And perfectly functional
