    Chamber casting material ?

Does anyone in Canterbury have any chamber casting material they don't intend using ?

I have just picked up a Remington #2 rolling block action and barrel that has obviously been a project rifle.
Some of the bits are lost.
Its been re barreled with a modern re purposed barrel that looks to be around 357 mag / 38 special size.
I'm putting my money on it being chambered for either of those.
    The barrel looks very tidy.

But would like to double check before I push on with the various repairs required to make this functional.
Small casing so not much material needed.

Looks to me like someone was trying to put together a #2 baby carbine as the barrel is 17" long

Bismuith alloys like woods metal are the best they retain true shape arent brittle and melt under 100 deg c. Woods metal used to be called low temperature solder and you could get it from wormalds. Ive got about 100g somewhere that I havnt used for ages. If you have no luck with anything else and I can find it, I could post it

I'm fairly certain its 357 mag chambered.
I went and dug through a heap of old cartridges I collected when I was a keen young lad and found a couple of 357 mag loaded rounds and empty cases.
They are a very nice fit at both ends.
Chamber fit is perfect and projectile is a tight fit at the muzzle.

So when I get it all going it will be a fun gun to run on cowboy 38 specials

I think that problem is solved for now but I will add some BROWNELLS - CERROSAFE to my next order of bits and pieces
