It's come up pretty well with the glue. Do you do all the inletting by hand?

Another good tip for you @Delphus is to inlet the bottom metal before you shape the outline of the stock. If it’s one piece bottom metal, that should be the very first thing that gets inletted, then you bring the action down to meet it. Always leave a little ‘extra’ between the two incase you have a flip when inletting the action. That allows you to plane the top down to remove your mistake and continue inletting.

If you have multi piece bottom metal, do the opposite. Action first.

The reason why the outline is cut out last is it means that you won’t undercut anywhere. The barrel won’t always end up perfectly aligned in the action by the time you’re finished so cutting the outline to the barrel line at the end is more accurate.

Everyone wants to get the outline cut to see how it’ll look, but patience is the key with stockwork. Big time!

Yep pretty much. I borrowed a mates router to cut the mag well and trigger, bu the action and barrel I inletted with chisels
