Thread: Checkering tools?

Looking for checkering tools so I can recut the checkering on my timber stocked xbolt.

Anyone have any they wanna hire to me ?

You could buy your own, as you could wear out a cutter on a stock refurb, esp on a recut. Steves Wholesale is the Bembart agent and sells individual parts. I bought a handle and a couple of cutters for a lot less than a kit.

If your stock already has checkering why not mask the area and get into it with some stripper and a tooth brush, comes up mint and no risk of an over run / slip with a checkering tool.

I bought a set off Ebay a few years ago (appeared to be unused). I found that the cheapest way to purchase. Previously, I tried making some out of small files (instructions somewhere on the internet) but didn't get very far with that.

Just use the tip of the legendary Bahco knife, then post results in the “Bubba what have you done” thread
