    Cz 455 stock on a jw15?

    Hi all.

Just picked up a norinco jw15 with synthetic stock for plucking hares etc.

While browsing I noticed a nice cz455 stock locally for a good price $50.

Now I know I'll get the don't waist your time, but anyone looked into this before?

My understanding is the jw15 is mirrored off the cz452 but then also the 455 mirrored off the 452, uses same mag etc.

This would be my first time modding a firearm but thought it could be a good start.

I'm a chippy by trade and obviously have allot to learn but would like to give something like this a go.

    Now

I have no idea if it will fit, but its gotta be close. I'd certainly give it a nudge, nothing to lose and should make a decent rifle when finished. Look forward to the progress reports and pic's.

Does that mean you personally @MB or is that an issue generally with the cz stocks?

CZ 452 and 455 stocks are not interchangeable and there are so many variations of the CZ 452 that you have to be sure that what you are buying will fit. I've been chasing a chassis or adjustable stock for my CZ 452-2E ZKM American for sometime now without success. I've given up and made some simple additions to the factory stock.

For $50 you might as well go for it, and it will be a better fit. Bit of hacking and bedding will sort any discrepancy.
My plastic JW 15 got plastic spacers but still didn't like it so got a boyds stock for it. Was all good till I got the CZ with a nice crisp trigger, now I need to tutu as it's mushy and crap.
Post a picture when you've finished

Yeah the plastic JW15 stocks are in a word utter bloody garbage - the perfect example of cheap chinese construction - parts designed at a price and even from the factory mine does not fit the rifle (yes that was more than one word, that's how little I respect the Norinco outfit for doing that bit of shoddy work!). I need to have a look at it and add some compression tubes or pillars for the front two action screws and some sort of nut for the rear one that is a wood screw into nothing. It's not surprising the plastic stocked JW's don't have the same reputation as the timber stocked ones, and it's only BS design execution of the stock that's done it.

The jw15 is a copy of the cz as if the chap copying it was looking at a picture of it and tried to make one. Very impressive but not quite the same.

You'll find that the recoil lug is in a different spot and the action screw holes are a different distance apart as well.
